The iPad’s Magic Keyboard is My (Least) Favorite Apple Accessory
A true story.
You know what I love more than typing on a good keyboard? Typing on a magic one. After all, what can be better than magic?
That was true of the Magic Keyboard that Apple adorned the MacBooks with, and that is equally true about the one that they created for the iPad Pro and iPad Air. Every time my fingers touch the keys, I’m in typing heaven.
(but I freaking hate the material that the keyboard is made out of)
I love how the keyboard literally makes the iPad float in mid air… like magic. It’s perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
(what is this stuff? Rubber? Some kind of silicone? On a $300 keyboard?)
I love that the hinges are extremely sturdy, holding the iPad at just the right angles for writing. And it even charges the iPad through a built-in USB-C port!
(it gets so smudgy and feels grimy after a while… and wiping it off makes it feel sticky and leaves residue)
The backlight always comes on at the right moment. The trackpad is small, but oddly perfect for the iPad’s form factor and extremely responsive.
