In July, I wrote about my favorite movies of 2022 so far. But as you’re likely aware, we were only half-way through the year at that point, and thus, a follow-up story was as inevitable as Thanos himself.

Naturally, here are my other favorite movies from 2022. If you’ve been on the fence about any of these, I highly recommend giving them a shot. Enjoy.

Honorable Mention: Stoker

No, this movie did not come out in 2022. It in fact came out almost a decade ago. But I’m mentioning it here because, after years of one of my best friends telling me that I needed to watch it, I finally caved and gave it a shot. And you know what… it’s damn good. It’s the kind of movie that expertly plays with suspense and keeps building, and it lingers in the mind for quite some time after the credits have rolled. Every shot feels intentional and the performances from Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, and Matthew Goode are nuanced and magnetic (I’ll never trust any character Matthew Goode plays ever again, no matter how nice they seem to be). I won’t say its the kind of story for everyone, but for those who will enjoy it, it is a fine piece of cinema.
