I Wrote a Book…
…and it’s been a long time coming.
Anyone who knows me well could tell you one thing about me (besides the fact that I love Harry Potter…and Star Trek… and Doctor Who… and… well you get the point): I’m writing a book.
I’ve been writing a book since 2004, if my memory is correct. And let me make something abundantly clear: I’ve not been writing books for 16 years, I’ve been writing a book for 16 years. The same book.
Now, if you managed to find scribbles and notes from the earliest yawn of my creative endeavor and compared them to anything written within the last 5–10 years, you’d be hard pressed to find any similarities with the glorified fan-fiction I began with to the (hopefully) original and exciting narrative I’m currently constructing. That said, I personally can trace the barest origins of my current storyline to this drawing, which was the very first “concept” (I’m using the term loosely) I ever had:
Let me tell you a little history of the drawing you are looking at. I drew this picture of a castle during a ninth grade history class in which we were supposed to be watching a video about ancient Egyptians (the things your mind remembers…). I don’t know what bug had gotten into me, but I began scribbling down character ideas, plot points, and names to the right of the castle and all over the back of this drawing.
