Battle Royale (with Cheese): Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 3 vs. Samsung’s Galaxy Book Flex Alpha
Round 2… FIGHT!

In one of my recent battles, the MacBook Air narrowly beat the Surface Laptop 3- at least it did for me; in the end, I recommended the Surface Laptop 3 to most everyone else, but- despite a slower processor, no touch screen, and some abysmal heating issues- I begrudgingly settled on the MacBook Air because it was buddy-buddy with my iPhone.
But we aren’t here to talk about that. No, because I’ve moved on. You see, after that battle, I still wasn’t sold that these were the only two machines I should be considering. After all, we don’t live in a world run by Microsoft and Apple. There are other choices out there.
And I was damn intrigued by Samsung’s latest Galaxy Book Flex series. And right in the price-point we were looking at sat the Galaxy Book Flex Alpha, and that’s what we are going to look at today (the actual name of this device is “Galaxy Book Flex α”, but for the sake of sanity I’m going to type the word “Alpha” rather than try to remember how to type “α” every damn time). Originally, I was going to pit this against the MacBook Air, since that was the computer I’d decided to live with. But honestly, most of what I’d be comparing between the Samsung and the MacBook would be identical to the comparisons with the MacBook and the Surface Laptop 3, and hell, I’ve done already wrote that.
So, instead, let’s compare Windows to Windows, and pit the Alpha against the Surface. Ready? Set? FIGHT!

-Ok, hold up; that name is a mouthful. For the duration of this battle, we’re gonna refer to the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha simply as Alpha, and the Surface Laptop 3 as the Surface. Ok? Ok.
