I am just clever enough to get myself in trouble…

The Deal is the Deal. And Netflix’s show is definitely the real deal.

I’ll preface this review with a simple fact: I’ve never read a single book in the GrishaVerse. I’ve seen Six of Crows and Shadow and Bone at the bookstore enough times to have been familiar with the covers, but I had absolutely no knowledge of what kind of story was within the pages.

And when Netflix dropped the first trailer for Shadow and Bone, I admit that I was intrigued, but I wasn’t exactly sold. I’ve been a little leery of Netflix’s fantasy offerings, as I’ve found they can be very hit (Witcher) or miss (Cursed… ok, I didn’t hate…

We’ve heard of disabling iMessage before switching to Android. Did you know the reverse is also true?

I recently switched back to Android from my iPhone 12 mini, and for good reason: I was having trouble sending and receiving text messages with people using Android devices.

The issue was this: I could not send any type of MMS from my iPhone to someone with an Android phone. Granted, I realized that most of my contacts are currently rocking iPhones just like me, but there were a few glaring omissions: my mom, my grandmother, and my uncle. That meant I couldn’t send new photos of my wife and me to my mom, I couldn’t send silly videos of…

And how I feel about them.

Right now, I’m in a bit of a mixed place; I’ve switched back to the Pixel 4a from my iPhone 12 mini (I’ll be writing about that soon), I’ve been using my Pixelbook Go more frequently than my MacBook Air, and I’m no longer wearing my Apple Watch.

It isn’t that I’ve fallen out of love for Apple products- in fact, I’d say my love for Apple’s devices has never been stronger- it’s more that I’ve begun really thinking about which of their devices I want to use on a daily basis, and which ones I can live without.

Even…

Which wearable should you wear?

Ok, this is going to be an odd one.

Normally, when I do a Battle Royale, I tend to pit like against like; computer vs computer, phone vs phone, headphones vs… you get the idea.

But today, my comparison is going to feature two devices that couldn’t be more different from one another. And yet, they overlap in what they set out to do.

I’ve been wearing smartwatches for years; I started with a Pebble, then proceeded to jump around between Apple Watches, Fitbits, Fossils, and a Galaxy Watch Active 2. As the big geek that I am, smartwatches always…

As I was watching episode four of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I couldn’t help but notice the music. I love the music in this series, but more specifically, I love that they brought Henry Jackman back to compose the show, allowing him to continue to build on the themes he first created in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

A few years ago, I stumbled upon a few YouTube videos and articles floating around the internet complaining that the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t have iconic themes. Iron Man, for example, didn’t have an anthem…

As rumors spread of the imminent arrival of new iPads, should you really wait to buy one?

Sitting with my iPad mini- which despite being new to me is now two years old- I couldn’t help but wonder whether I should hold on to it or wait for Apple to release the oft-rumored 2021 model. Certainly, the idea that it could have a thinner bezel, mini-LED screen, and more modern design (or, you know, not, according to some recent rumors) was enticing. Not to mention that any new iPad mini would likely feature the A14 processor rather than the aging A12. Oops… I mentioned it.

But the more I thought about it, the more a singular question…

We’ve all been there: we see a movie and we absolutely fall in love with it, only to find that the majority of people in the world had a wildly different opinion.

And every time you revisit it, you find yourself either wondering what they are all missing, or if you are simply crazy for being such a fan.

There are several movies on my list of favorites that I’m sure most people wouldn’t understand why I love them so much, so let’s talk about that. And who knows… maybe I’ll change your mind on one or two of them.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

The Justice League we deserved.

It’s no secret: 2017’s Justice League sucked.

It’s also no secret why it sucked; Zack Snyder had to leave the project before it was finished, Warner Bros. replaced him with Joss Whedon (whose style of film couldn’t be more different from Snyder’s, and that’s not even factoring in all the bullshit that went down on set), rushed the production to reshoot over half the movie, and released a steaming pile in theaters for us all to “enjoy”.

Thanks, Warner Bros.

Justice League was one of the first movie reviews I ever wrote on Medium; you can check that out here

I love my Apple tech, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few things I wouldn’t like to see improved.

And yes, I did start this story off with a triple-negative.

As I’ve been getting accustomed to Apple’s devices in my day-to-day life, I’ve begun to think about what I would like to see in the next versions. With some devices potentially getting a refresh in the very near future, I thought it would be interesting to come up with my “wish list” for what I’d liked to see next.

Keep in mind, none of my thoughts here are based in any way on rumors or leaks that have been going around; for the most part, I avoid reading about…

“Fun Size” is the right size.

Over the last year, I’ve tried basically every iPad currently available, from the 12.9-inch iPad Pro to the latest iPad Air, and I’ve finally figured out which one I like the best. And you’ll never guess which one it is.

Ok, you will, because I said it in the title. It’s the iPad mini. Yeah, the tiny one. The outdated one. But dammit… I still love it.

Allow me to explain.

As I tried the various sizes of iPad, I started thinking about what I wanted out of my tablet. Did I want it to replace my laptop? …
